Here at Calvary Fellowship, we believe that no one has more potential to influence a child’s relationship with God than his or her parents or caretakers. We believe that what happens at home is more important than what happens at church, and we want to be trusted partners on the faith journey as parents raise their children to know what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We look forward to forming long-term partnerships with the parents/caretakers in our church and are honored to come alongside them during a time of child dedication. A child dedication is a time in which parents/caregivers dedicate their child(ren) to Christ and also dedicate themselves to raising the child(ren) in a God-honoring way. During the dedication portion of our service, parents make certain commitments in raising their children in the Lord, and the church makes some as well. Our pastor will then pray over the families. This is a time of thanksgiving, commitment, and blessing. This special time is not an infant or child baptism, but an expression of commitment as a parents to raise children for the Lord. When children are mature enough to understand what it means to put their trust in Jesus as their personal savior, they can make that decision for themselves. We look forward to partnering with children and families through this process, as baptism in the New Testament follows repentance and faith in Jesus.
