Prayer is a vital part of our relationship with God, as individuals and a church community. As believers, it is a privilege and responsibility to thank God for all He is doing among us and to intercede for God’s wisdom, direction, and provision in the needs of our community, our church, our ministries, and our people. We have seen lives changed and transformed through the power of prayer and our team is dedicated to lifting up the needs of the church corporately and individually.

God answers prayer! — “Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”  (Hebrews 4:16 NIV)

Join us for our weekly time of corporate intercessory prayer on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM at Conard HS. All are welcome!

Who We Are

We are currently 27 members of Calvary, joined by our calling to pray for others. We are a diverse group of individuals and on Sundays, we serve at Calvary with after-service prayer, Prayer Team Admin (typing up prayer requests), and being available to pray with anyone who asks. Prayer Team members also serve within other ministries such as the Children’s Ministry, Praise & Worship Band, Announcements, Greeting & Ushering, Youth Ministry, Food & Beverage, and Hospitality.

What We Do

We take very seriously both the honor and the confidentiality involved in praying for the needs of our Calvary family, both from Sunday’s Prayer Cards and those received during the week. We also pray before every Sunday service for our pastors and staff, the service, and any personal needs of others. After service, members are up front ready to pray for those who come forward. And, on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 7 PM, the team hosts Prayer Night at 25 Lawler Road, West Hartford.

Need Prayer?

Let us know how the prayer team and staff can pray for you by:
– Receiving personal prayer immediately following Sunday service at the front of the auditorium
– Filling out and submitting your “Prayer Request” on your prayer card at Sunday service
– Sending your prayer needs via email to or fill out this online prayer request form.

Want to serve on the Prayer Team?

If you share a similar passion for prayer, and are a member, please email us at If you’re not a member, you can still join us for before-service prayer each Sunday, and Prayer Night on the first and third Sunday of each month.

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

James 5:16 NIV
