I remember one of the first times I went fishing as a little girl. It was hot, humid and horrendous!! Well … maybe not horrendous. I was looking for a word to keep my alliteration going, but my point is that it wasn’t the best experience. Fishing requires patience, and even the best fishers don’t always come away with a catch. And that’s perfectly fine. I tell this story because on Sunday we’re taking a look at Matthew 4, when Jesus says to His two disciples, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Fishers of men. Isn’t that something we all want to become? Someone who brings others into a relationship with Christ. To do so requires intentionality and patience, much like a fisherman would encounter on a weekend by the lake. I know this is a message we can all glean from so I hope you can make it out to church on Sunday.
P.S. Our Haiti team is in Granbouchi so please keep them in your prayers! They return Saturday. Click here to see their updates.
