  • Bless a Child with Operation Christmas Child

    Candace Fish / November 5, 2018

For another year, Calvary Fellowship is partnering with Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization through their Operation Christmas Child initiative. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 157 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 160 countries and territories. For many of these children, the gift-filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.

Many children who receive shoebox gifts will also enroll in Operation Christmas Child’s 12-lesson discipleship program, The Greatest Journey. This program teaches children about God’s amazing love and guides them through what it means to faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Since 2010, more than 14 million children have participated in the program. Every child who graduates is given a New Testament in their own language.

This year, Calvary Fellowship has the goal of collecting 300 shoeboxes! We will be collecting boxes now until November 18th. As you pack, take the time to pray over your box and the child who will receive it, share the realities of global need with your family, and to learn how God is in control all the time. I pray this opportunity helps you see God’s love and his desire to know people all over the world including you, His child.

Matthew 19:14 “Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

    Blessings,
