Resilience: Why We Need It
Bill LaMorey / May 15, 2020
According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, resilience is described as:
– The capability of a strained body to recover its size and shape after deformation caused especially by compressive stress.
– An ability to recover or adjust easily to misfortune or change.
Now more than ever it’s important for us to be resilient in the face of tragedy, trauma and stress. For some people this comes easier, but for all people–it’s possible. That’s why I’m excited to share with you a new training hosted by Urban Alliance called “Building Emotional Resilience.” This training will highlight 10 skills that can be incorporated into day-to-day life to improve a child or adult’s capacity to cope as they persevere through the COVID-19 crisis. Scripture as well as existing research will be used to support the importance of each skill. This FREE workshop will be held on Thursday, May 28 from 7:00 – 8:15pm. I hope you can take advantage of this growth opportunity!
P.S. We’re in week five of our “Judging God” series on Sunday. Make plans to gather for Church at Home at 8am, 10am or 6pm!
